Breast Cancer Foundation NZ Pink Ribbon Street Appeal

Thursday, October 26, 2023

Breast cancer is the most common cancer to affect women in Aotearoa, with almost 3500 new cases of breast cancer each year in New Zealand, it's an important issue that we are proud to help support! Today Kendall and Linda from our Wellington office spent the day outside Glassons on Lambton Quay, volunteering for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ Pink Ribbon Street Appeal.

This was a nation wide appeal to help collect essential funds to help in the research and combatting of cancer.

The Breast Cancer Foundation aims to eventually have zero deaths from breast cancer each year. While they are aware this will be a challenging goal to accomplish, and while they're aware that breast cancer will probably still exist, they aim to catch it early, and treat it better to prevent it spreading to other areas of the body. They aim to do this through raising awareness of the important problem and promote early detection to all women and men, breaking down barriers that stop eligible women getting mammograms and actively encouraging the development of testing new tech for early development.
